Babels-uk report on the composition of the English booth

(Date: 15 May 2006)

The 1st and the 2nd reports of Babels-uk informed on the criteria we used for selecting interpreters.

After Athens ESF, it is time for Babels-uk to publish a summary of the composition of the English booth. Coordinators from Babels-uk have been following the criteria and selection protocol described in the first two reports. It is worth noting however, that due to last minute cancellation of a few previously selected interpreters, we have had to select a small number of interpreters outside of the criteria mentioned in the previous reports. Indeed, 11 interpreters have been selected even if they have "only" French, Spanish, or German as a passive language, despite our initial willingness to favour interpreters with more than one passive language given the complexity of athens ESF linguistic needs.
